The University of California at San Francisco seeks 3 full time faculty members in several of its faculty series (see individual descriptions below) in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDS) for its division of General Dentistry, commencing on or before September, 2008.   Candidates are required to have DDS/DMD or equivalent from an institution accredited by the ADA, and California licensure or eligibility for licensure in California.  Candidates also having a PhD in a relevant discipline are preferred.   The School of Dentistry is a world leader in research of orofacial diseases and the study of materials and therapies applied to their prevention and treatment. Salary augmentation will be available via participation in the Departmental Compensation Plan and the PRDS Faculty Group Practice with California licensure by the Dental Board of California.

  

Tenure Track/In Residence Faculty: Faculty in these series have significant teaching, research, service and clinical responsibilities. Teaching includes pre-doctoral and postgraduate dental and graduate students and post doctoral scholars.  Those having specialty training in an appropriate dental specialty are encouraged. The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of or high potential for development of an independent research program.  Clinical or translational research interests in esthetic dentistry, biomaterials or dental implants are desired.     

 

Clinical X Faculty:  Faculty in this series have significant teaching, clinical, service and scholarly responsibilities.  Teaching includes pre-doctoral and postgraduate dental students, and may include graduate students, and post doctoral scholars. Those having specialty training in an appropriate dental specialty are encouraged.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of or high potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly work relevant to advancement in the areas covered by general dentistry.  Those having the potential to develop significant clinical or translational research interests in esthetic dentistry, biomaterials or dental implants are desired.
