- Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Division of Biomaterials at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), Dept. of Restorative Dentistry, Division of Biomaterials, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position, with joint appointment to the UTHSCSA/UTSA Biomedical Engineering Program. Academic rank will be at a level justified by qualifications. Preferred qualifications include: 1) Experience and/or training that combines two or more of the following: biology, biomaterials, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, dental materials, mechanics or related disciplines. 2) Experience in biomimetics, nano technology, tissue integration with materials, tissue regeneration, surface modification of biomaterials, biocompatibility, or related subjects. 3) Ability to participate in dental school pre-doctoral and post-doctoral didactic courses and graduate-level courses in biomedical engineering, and be able to supervise students in dental MS and biomedical engineering MS and PhD programs. 4) A history of externally-funded, independent research, or strong potential for establishing an independent research program. 5) A history of interdisciplinary collaboration, ability to interact effectively with students and clinical professionals, and commitment to professional service.
